Garret Fitzpatrick, aged 27, of Bank Street, Brierley Hill, appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Sartaj Aziz, 26, was hit by a lorry on Thorns Road, in Quarry Bank, last Tuesday. Fitzpatrick did not enter a plea and spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the hearing.

He sat in silence as a date was set for the next hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday.

Floral tributes to Mr Aziz have been placed on a lamp post outside the Formula 1 Hand Car Wash in Thorns Road.
