Dogs hurt in crash involving police car in Walsall

Several dogs were taken to an animal hospital for treatment following a crash between a police car and another vehicle in Walsall today.

The crash happened in Field Road, Bloxwich, at around 10.20am.

Two officers in the police car and the driver and passenger of the Kia Sedona, believed to be a mother and daughter, were not injured in the collision.

Both cars were recovered from the scene shortly afterwards.

West Midlands Police spokesman Peter Edney said the officers had been carrying out a routine patrol when the collision happened.

Several dogs which had been travelling in the Kia were taken to an animal hospital for treatment.
