People had originally been given to the end of July to have their say over changes which have been announced by Walsall Council.

Aldridge Manor House, in Little Aston Road, will close in a bid to save cash.

It has been home to a popular youth club for more than 50 years.

The local authority has pledged to continue to provide youth services from Aldridge Manor House until the end of the year.

Children's services boss Rachel Andrew said: "The suggestions being circulated that we've failed to properly consult youngsters with this decision simply isn't the case. We've been talking to young people who actually use the centre for their views."

It comes ahead of a crunch public meeting, taking place at Aldridge Manor House from 6pm to 8pm tomorrow.
