Greatest day for Alison Williamson as sun shines on wedding
She has competed in six Olympic Games but for archer Alison Williamson, her wedding day was top of the pile.
The 41-year-old was all smiles as she got married at Stafford Registry Office in front of around 30 family and friends on Saturday. And Alison said exchanging vows had been her number one event.
The weather helped to make the occasion even more memorable as she married Will Conaghan, 43, a press officer for Stafford Borough Council.
The reception was held close to the registry office at Greengate Street's Posthouse in Stafford town centre.
She said: "It was wonderful there was great weather.
"It was so nice to have family and friends to share it with us.
"It was very intimate and was the number one event in my life. I have got to get used to my new name now, and then we go to Paris for our honeymoon."
