Double yellow lines in frame for busy Willenhall route
Double yellow lines could be put in place on a busy road in Willenhall where cars lining the streets are making life difficult for residents.
People living in Coltham Road, in Short Heath, have long complained about cars being left outside their homes.
It is claimed vehicles are being parked along the carriageway and reducing the road to a single lane for long parts of the working day.
An order has been drawn up and advertised asking people for their thoughts on new measures to tackle the problem.
It proposes to introduce double yellow lines on the road between its junctions with Church Road and Walkers Fold.
It is claimed workers based nearby are using the road to leave their cars and then walk to work.
Councillors in the area today said they were pleased to see action being taken to tackle the issue but urged people to have their say.
Ian Shires, Liberal Democrat representative for Willenhall North, said he had been contacted by residents over the issue.
But he added: "What I would urge people to do is comment on this order.
"It is good that something is being done to tackle these issues.
"But it affects residents and it is important they should comment on it before something is done to make sure it is the right solution."
Objections should be put in writing to the Constitutional Services Manager, Civic Centre, Darwall Street, Walsall, WS1 1DG by June 14.
It is the latest parking problem to be tackled in the Walsall borough.
A total of 50 new parking spaces will be created in The Butts area to alleviate congestion problems there.
Around 33 new car parking spaces are being created in the grounds of a Walsall Housing Group owned tower block Austin House, while a further 17 are being created in surrounding Upper Forster Street and Butts Street.
