The 61-year-old organist was at West Bromwich Town Hall yesterday playing a selection of ballads and finishing with A Trip to the Opera.

"It's always a privilege to come here," said Brewood resident Jean.

"The people of West Bromwich are so wonderful and friendly. The hall here brings back lots of happy memories. It's like coming home.

"I never panic coming here because I always get such a good reception."

Jean has been performing carol concerts at the town hall, in High Street, for the past five years.

And the grandmother-of-three said she was still enjoying life in the fast lane after starring in Britain's got Talent two years ago. She is expecting to appear in the official Sainsbury's magazine after being approached by a senior worker at the store in Cannock.

The keyboard player who impressed judges and audiences on the ITV talent show has also agreed to play at the supermarket, in Voyager Drive, later this year.

"If I said my feet have not touched the ground it would be an understatement," she said.

"I was a Buckingham Palace last summer, St James's Palace last Christmas, it is non-stop. People are always coming up to me and saying 'hello'. I was in Sainsburys the other day and the manager came up to me and said 'Jean, is that you?'

"'Can I have a picture for the official Sainsbury's magazine?' Before I knew it, I'd agreed to play in store for them at Christmas. It's lovely."
