She's just six years old – but Wolverhampton schoolgirl Dachiya Atkinson has taken the world by storm with her amazing breakdancing skills.

When Dachiya could walk by the age of nine months and was jumping off the sofa to do handstands at two, her parents were understandably impressed with her achievements.

But they never could have imagined that by the age of six the youngster would also be wowing the world with her breakdancing skills.

Footage of her appearing at the Pro Chelles international dancing competition in Paris last weekend has attracted 2.8 million views on YouTube and is growing by thousands every day.

An audience member filmed the schoolgirl's appearance at the contest. In the short video, she stuns the crowd with her moves, during which, in a tiny grey tracksuit and hat, she spins on her head, performs windmills and forward flips like a trained professional.

The crowd leap to their feet as she continues her amazing performance, which helped her reach the finals. The footage was posted on the internet and within 24 hours, Dachiya, whose performing name is B-Girl Terra, was appearing on news websites and programmes across the globe. Now the schoolgirl and her family are back at home in Fallings Park, Wolverhampton, but the Atkinsons are already in talks about where Dachiya and her sister, also a talented dancer who takes part in international competitions, will be performing next after capturing the imagination of television bosses the world over.

Mother Jennifer Hollyoak said: "We can't quite believe it.

"We were clicking on the clip and we were quite surprised when it got to 500,000 views, it was such a shock.

"Now more than two million have seen it."

Jennifer said the family had been inundated with comments about the video. She added: "Dachiya has also been shown on E-News in America, and the show is saying they would love to bring her to the USA, so fingers crossed something might come of that."

The 27-year-old university student, who also works at New Cross Hospital in the catering department, said her daughter has been unfazed by her internet success and said she just wanted her friends and teachers at school to see it.

She added: "I was worried she was going to get scared as she is only six, but she is still really happy when she comes off stage, even if she loses. That is the important thing.

"She is very confident, and we are so proud of both of them."

Despite her tender years, she has already been honing her skills on the dancefloor for several years, having started by attending a dance class at Newhampton Arts Centre run by the group Transit Trix after her older sister Damita joined up.

In the meantime, their father Dean also began training the pair at their home in Fallings Park.

In 2011 they attracted the attention of Wolverhampton's Goldie when he went to the centre to film a documentary about his early life in the city and watched the pair perform.

Afterwards the suitably impressed star told them how good he thought they were and told them to stick with it.

The sporty siblings, who also do gymnastics, currently train three times a week for a couple of hours each session. The sisters now perform with a London-based crew, Soul Mavericks, the biggest in the UK.

Young Dachiya told the Express & Star she liked dancing because it is "nice" and said she doesn't get nervous when she goes out on stage.

It seems her dancing may just stay a hobby for now though as the youngster says she has already got big plans for when she gets older, as she actually wants to be a mermaid.

For now though she will continue with her dancing and already has more competitions lined up including an appearance at an event in Holland at the end of the year.
