Coronation Street star Alan Halsall visits fans at Willenhall care home
Coronation Street favourite Alan Halsall visited a care home in the Black Country along with his actress wife Lucy-Jo Hudson.
The actor, who plays Tyronne Dobbs, dropped in at Harden Hall Care Home in Willenhall, chatting to residents and staff and posing for pictures and signing autographs.
The couple are expecting their first child this summer and Alan practised his fatherly duties by holding carer Carol Birch's four-week-old grand-daughter Amelia.
Lucy-Jo, aged 29, aso revealed she had been suffering with morning sickness and was looking forward to that part of her pregnancy to pass.
Alan, who recently won Best Soap Actor at the National Television Awards, and Lucy-Jo, who used to star in Corrie and drama Wild At Heart, were at the home as part of its first anniversary celebrations.
They have been visiting homes owned by Ideal Care Homes for two years.
Alan, aged 30 said: "It's something that's close to my heart.
"My nan was in a home and I don't have good memories of it but this place is like a top-class hotel."
Meanwhile, Harden Hall cook Fay Mason, 49, from New Invention, impressed the actor with her cake creation of The Rovers Return. The stunningly realistic cake took seven hours to make and was later raffled.
Alan is currently at the forefront of a hard-hitting storyline on the soap which sees him abused at the hands of his on-screen partner Kirsty, played by Natalie Gumede.
Gumede is due to leave the cobbles imminently in a dramatic twist.
