Funeral date set for Lord Tarsem King

The funeral of Lord Tarsem King, a former mayor and leader of Sandwell Council, will be held on Thursday.

Lord King, from West Bromwich, died suddenly on Wednesday, aged 75.

He was heading back to the Midlands from the House of Lords when he collapsed at Euston station. He died in hospital that night of a suspected heart attack.

His funeral will be held at Sandwell Valley Crematorium in Newton Road at 9am. Up to 1,000 people are expected to attend.
