The 24-year-old from Willenhall was driving his grey Toyota Corolla along the A34 Walsall Road in Great Wyrley when it was overtaken by a blue Renault Clio.

The Clio, possibly a W-registration, then reversed into the Corolla. Its driver got out and confronted the victim, smashing his hand with a baton and leaving him with cuts and bruises.

The cars continued down Walsall Road but, near the junction with Long Lane in Newtown, the Clio driver again got out and smashed the Corolla's windows.

Pc Scott Dean said: "This was an unusual and nasty incident which we're treating very seriously."

The attack happened at 4.45pm on Wednesday.

The Clio driver is white, around 5ft 9ins tall, of average build, aged around 20 with short blonde hair.
