There were problems in Stafford today on the A518 Weston Road, between the Beaconside and Queensway junctions.

The River Sow by Asda also caused the nearby path to flood and the underpass for the Queensway was impassable.

A total of 30 children had to be evacuated from Meaford Day Nursery on Meaford Road, near the A34 junction in Stone, due to a flooded road outside.

And cars were also left stranded overnight on the A34 as a result of deep floodwater.
