54,600,000 bottles of beer on way to festive drinkers
It may look like a tall order – but by New Year's Day most of the beer seen in these pictures will have been downed by festive drinkers.
As you raise a toast at Christmas, spare a thought for workers at Molson Coors' national distribution centre, which currently houses a staggering 54,600,000 bottles and cans of beer.
Spread over an area the size of six football pitches in Britain's brewing capital, Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire, the site is currently rammed to the rafters with 27,000 pallets of beer awaiting shipment to supermarkets and off-licences.
Molson Coors supplies off-licences and supermarkets with a variety of beers and ales including, Carling, Grolsch, Doom Bar, Coors Light, Stones, Cobra, Worthingtons, Corona and Caffreys.
If they were all laid end to end, the contents of the warehouse would stretch for an estimated 5,173 miles (8,325km).
A Molson Coors spokesman said: "Along with summer, Christmas is a crucial trading period for us.
"In the run-up to the big day itself, there are plenty of people who are stocking up for parties.
"As a result, everyone from the brewery, warehouse and delivery teams has been working flat out to make sure we've got the right stock so that our customers have everything they need to keep the tills ringing."
