Cannock Christmas lights switched on
Christmas cheer came to Cannock town centre as the festive lights were switched on.
Hundreds of families descended on Market Place to witness the big switch-on, enjoy fairground rides and visit Father Christmas in his grotto.
After the lights went on, the crowds were treated to a firework display.
Mother-of-two Laura Carpenter took her eldest daughter Sienna, aged two, along to help them get in the Christmas spirit.
"We came last year and it was great and this year's has been fun too," said the 26-year-old, who is also mother to 16-month-old Francesca. It's got a lovely atmosphere to it and we're both feeling very Christmassy now."
Children also got to enjoy performances by a magician, face painting and carol singers. Leanne Dowling, aged 27, of Great Wyrley, took her six-year-old son Lewis Hawkins along. "It's been really, really good," she said.
