Jailed dealer in £10k of debt
A drug dealer who was caught with £48,000 worth of amphetamines has been jailed for 28 months.
Police uncovered the hoard at the home of Jamie Watson, in Willenhall, after stopping his car on the M6 near Stafford.
Mr Pat Sullivan, prosecuting, said in the car was a small amount of cannabis, a knuckle duster and £195.
But when police searched his home, in Tyler Road, Rose Hill, they found six kilos of amphetamine with a street value of around £48,000.
Watson, aged 25, admitted possessing drugs with intent to supply, possessing cannabis and possessing an offensive weapon.
Judge Trevor Jones told him: "From a long standing habit of using drugs, you have become involved in the supply of drugs.
"This resulted out of you, in turn having amassing a significant debt to your dealer, so you were under that degree of pressure. "It is a picture which is so often the case."
Miss Laura Hobson, defending, said Watson, a father of two, fell into a spiral of amphetamine use and had racked up debts of £10,000.
