Mr Harbour has a hoard of thousands of collectables at his Willenhall home, including books, model cars, real replica and toy guns and a cardboard cut-out of former Bond actor Pierce Brosnan.

And the 59-year-old, who became "hooked" on James Bond after seeing Goldfinger as a youngster, has opened up his vast collection as he looks forward to seeing the spy's latest outing Skyfall, which will be released at cinemas nationwide tomorrow.

His obsession started at the age of around 10 when he began reading his father's Ian Fleming books and started collecting newspaper cuttings.

Gun

His collection of items began in the 1960s with a 1965 Corgi car and a toy gun.

"My dad took me and a friend to see the film Goldfinger," he said.

"I had already read the books From Russia with Love, Dr No and Casino Royale.

"Goldfinger was unlike anything I'd ever seen as a kid.

"It blew me away. I was hooked from then."

His home is now full of items, including his favourite piece – a Walther LP53 air pistol which he came across around 20 years ago.

It was similar to the gun used by Mr Harbour's favourite Bond actor Sir Sean Connery.

"I have shelves of books, model cars, magazines, toy guns and real replica guns," he said.

"My kitchen and bathroom are the only two rooms that don't have Bond items in them.

"I got a cardboard cut-out of Pierce Brosnan from a cinema. I just asked if I could have it." His favourite Bond films are From Russia with Love and On Her Majesty's Secret Service, both of which date back to the 1960s.

Parts manager Mr Harbour said: "I like the films that follow the books and I loved the storylines. I've met Sir Roger Moore three or four times and I had dinner with George Lazenby because I was helping out with an event at the NEC."

He said Daniel Craig had done a good job stepping into Bond's shoes for the most recent films.

"From what I've seen of the trailer for the new film, Skyfall, it looks brilliant and I'm looking forward to it."

Mr Harbour sent some photos and cuttings that were used in Roger Moore's book, Bond on Bond.

And Sir Roger even sent Mr Harbour a personal thank-you letter for his help.
