Car smashes into kitchen of house
A sports car left the road and skidded more than 100ft along a grass embankment before smashing through a fence and into the kitchen of a house.
A young mother had been mixing milk for her baby in the kitchen of the house, in Brierley Hill, just a minute before the convertible car smashed into it.
It is believed the female driver of the red Toyota MR2 lost control after crossing the bridge in Pensnett Road and hitting a curb.
She was cut free from the car by firefighters and taken to Russells Hall Hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be serious.
Rebecca Poyner, aged 17, had been mixing milk for her five-month-old son in the kitchen just one minute before the car hit the house.
Miss Poyner's sister Stacey Havins, 24, her two-year-old daughter and two-month-old son, and mother Lesley Poyner, 48, and her three-year-old son, were also in the house at the time.
Lesley said: "My daughter had just come out of the kitchen and we were sat in the living room feeding when I heard a big bang.
"I got up and went through to kitchen and saw the front of the car bonnet. I got everyone out the house quickly and then called the police.
"It was so lucky the car hadn't gone through the wall one minute earlier."
Lesley's husband Roger was at work at a nearby warehouse when the car hit the house, just after midday yesterday.
The 45-year-old said: "I'm just so relieved no-one was hurt. At the end of the day the only damage we have is bricks and mortar, and that can all be replaced.
"This is the kind of thing you read about in the papers, but you never believe it will happen to you.
"We're all still in shock over it."
