Around 20,000 country music lovers will be in Wolverhampton this weekend for the ever-popular Wolvestock festival.

Hundreds of people have already turned up at East Park for the 18th annual event, which is set to drenched in sunshine.

Temperatures are forecast to reach 18C (64F) today and rise as high as 22C (71) tomorrow, with no rain being predicted for either.

Eager campers began pitching their tents yesterday afternoon ahead of two days of performances from some of the UK's top country acts.

Highlights on this year's bill include Birmingham-based three piece The Toy Hearts, who feature among dozens of performers across three stages on both days. The Diablos and God's Country will also make an appearance.

Organiser Jacki Wynn said around 200 campsite pitches were snapped up for the festival, which was named best event at the British Country Music Awards last year.

She said: "We're looking forward to a great weekend – hopefully the weather will be kind."

The free festival also includes a fun fair, dancing and plenty of food and drinks stalls.

Gates are open from midday to 8.30pm today and tomorrow.
