A panel of top politicians will head to West Bromwich as BBC Question Time is filmed at the new £77 million Sandwell College tonight.

The programme will feature regular host David Dimbleby, Justice Secretary Kenneth Clarke, Labour's Shadow Health Secretary Andy Burnham MP, Len McCluskey of Unite the Union, political economist Ruth Lea and business woman of the year Julie White.

It will be shown on television at 10.35pm.

Principal Val Bailey said: "This is a great honour for us to host Question Time from our fantastic new Central Campus, and we are both proud and delighted.

"As one of the first pillars in the West Bromwich regeneration plan, we are pleased to get the town on the map."

Former Sandwell Mayor and Wednesbury stalwart Bill Archer has submitted questions for debate, one of which is: "Will Jimmy Carr's tax avoidance end his career, and should politicians lecture people on tax avoidance, when some of them have claimed thousand of pounds on expenses and then gone to jail as a result?"
