Two men accused of breaking stolen cars up for parts have appeared in court.

Sean Stone, aged 45, of Squirrel Close, in Huntington, Cannock, appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court yesterday alongside Emerson Nightingale, 37, of Edinburgh Avenue, Bentley, Walsall.

The case relates to a police raid at premises in Wood Street, Willenhall, last September, when parts from stolen cars were allegedly found. Stone gave no indication of a plea to six charges of dishonestly receiving stolen goods. The charges span from September 2008 until September last year and involve cars worth a combined £26,000 ranging from white Ford Transit vans to Land Rover Defender and Discovery models and a black Volkswagen Golf.

He also faces a charge of producing 15 cannabis plants worth £4,200.

Nightingale meanwhile indicated a not guilty plea to receiving a stolen Ford Transit van worth £3,500 and a motorbike worth £1,500.

The bench adjourned the case and the pair will next appear before Walsall magistrates on August 1 for committal to crown court. Both men were granted unconditional bail until then.
