Four people have been arrested on suspicion of metal theft after police were called to reports of people setting fire to heavy duty cable in Willenhall.
Officers were called to Forest Court in Lichfield Road, New Invention, just after 2.15am yesterday.
Two men, aged 68 and 26, and two women, 24 and 50, were arrested on suspicion of theft. They are currently in police custody helping with their inquiries.
It comes after it was revealed earlier this week that more than 20 homes have been targeted by thieves stealing telephone and internet cables in overnight raids in Walsall and Willenhall over the past few weeks.
Small amounts of cabling have been stolen from outside homes in Darlaston, Bentley and Willenhall, with police warning residents and scrap metal merchants to be extra vigilant.
Colin Taylor, spokesman for West Midlands Police, said the incidents are not believed to be linked.
