Brierley Hill family flees fire at home

A family was forced to flee their Brierley Hill home today after fire broke out in a back bedroom.

Fire crews were called to Addison Road at 7.30am after a mother with three children raised the alarm.

They had already fled the house and were with a neighbour when firefighters arrived.

Two officers entered the building wearing breathing gear and were able to extinguish the blaze in a matter of minutes.

The fire was contained to the room. The cause of the fire is still not known and investigations continue.
