An acrobatic swimmer from Walsall Synchronised Swimming Club has somersaulted into the live semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent.

Former Great Britain team competitor Zoe Cooper is part of swimming quartet Aquabatique, which wowed the judges and the nation on Saturday night.

The 28-year-old, who works in Walsall but originally hails from Stafford, is preparing for the semi-final on Thursday and will be cheered on by proud fellow members of Walsall Synchronised Swimming Club.

Aquabatique was one of the acts to uproot the entire studio audience and judging panel outside to perform in four large glass tanks in Cardiff. While Simon Cowell declared they looked "amazing", David Walliams revealed the girls had performed at his wedding to model Lara Stone four years ago.

Now Zoe, who works at the Swimming Teachers Association in Walsall, is training up to 10 hours a day.

"The whole experience has been incredible," said Zoe, who did not even begin synchronised swimming until she was in her teens. But she soon got a taste for it and still coaches at the town's Gala Baths now.
