A bride-to-be's wedding dream is in tatters following the mystery closure of Weston Hall in Staffordshire just 15 weeks before her big day.
Devasted Tracey Gray had always fantasised about holding her wedding reception in a stately home. Now she and her fiance Marek Burley, both from Cannock, face losing £7,500 in lost deposits.
She said: " I've waited a long time for this – we've been together for 10 years – I'm absolutely gutted."
The 37-year-old hairdresser had been aware of problems with the business when it closed for a week last October. She said: "But we were assured by the new manager Seyed Deraviz that he would honour our arrangements and £2,000 deposit.
"We weren't due to see him again until March 19. I was shocked when I saw in the Express & Star that it was closed."
She and service engineer Marek, also 37, of Carlton Close, Heath Hayes, are due to get married in May. Weston Hall owner Paul Reynolds was unavailable for comment.
