The Chinese State Circus was bringing its eye-popping show to Wolverhampton's Civic Hall today – as millions of people around the world welcome in the new year of the dragon.

Acrobats, aerial performers and musicians will be at the venue tonight and tomorrow as part of a 37-date tour around the country.

The return of China's greatest circus features the first UK appearance of the formidable Shaolin Warrior known only as The One, sourced specifically by Director Phillip Gandey. The show itself, entitled Yin Yang, also includes a silk aerial act, parasol juggling and eye catching lion dance.

There is also the chance to see the legendary Bicycle Act, in which 10 performers will manoeuvre around the Civic Hall stage on a single bicycle.

Chinese poles, foot juggling with drums and a contortionist are also on the bill.
