Banks's Stadium sale is off

Walsall FC's Banks's Stadium is no longer up for sale, it was revealed today.

Bosses have withdrawn the freehold of the stadium and 17 acres of surrounding land from the market and it remains in the hands of owners Suffolk Life.

The stadium freehold was put up for sale in March with a price tag thought to be around £5 million. But selling agents DTZ today confirmed the freehold is no longer up for grabs. Senior director Nick Allen said: "I can confirm the property has been formally withdrawn from the market."

It comes just days after it emerged that a £4.6m bid lodged by Stratford-upon-Avon-based PMD Magnetics had been turned down.
