Hundreds of hospital operations and appointments could be cancelled across the Black Country and Staffordshire as thousands of NHS staff take part in a mass walkout later this month.

Across the Midlands 30,000 Unison members, including nurses, lab technicians, hospital porters, cleaners and NHS admin staff, will join other public sector staff in a day of action against Government plans to change their pensions on November 30. Teachers may also strike.

While union bosses have stressed emergency care will be maintained, hospital bosses are warning of significant disruption for patients.
