Police swooped on a Staffordshire street as part of a crackdown on thefts and burglaries in the county.

Officers searched properties in Mill Street, Cannock, following tip-offs from residents who were concerned about crime and drug use in the area.

The police team was joined by officers from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue as well as staff from the drugs and alcohol support service.

An order was issued on one property preventing it from being used until work to address fire safety concerns was carried out.

The warrants were issued as part of Staffordshire Police's Operation Impact.

Chief Inspector Carl Ratcliffe said: "We will continue to focus on the problems in the area and to tackle those involved in crime in our community. With this action goes the reassurance to residents and businesses that there is no place for criminality or anti-social behaviour within the district and I will do what I can to address it."
