Cannock residents want play area by homes to go
Angry residents have bombarded council bosses with complaints after a play area was built near their Staffordshire homes without full planning permission.
Angry residents have bombarded council bosses with complaints after a play area was built near their Staffordshire homes without full planning permission.
The playground in Cannock has become a hub of anti-social behaviour with 24 incidents reported since May.
The council acknowledges that there is a problem with children scrawling graffiti, throwing stones and making a noise but say removal of the equipment would have a negative impact on the community. Residents want a return to open space.
The criticisms concern the public open space between Pheasant Way and Peregrine Way on the Park Farm Estate in Heath Hayes. Retrospective permission is being sought for the games area which has now been built after the Persimmon Homes scheme was approved in principle by the council some months ago.
