A £900,000 revamp of Kinver High Street will be altered after it sparked hundreds of complaints from residents and traders.
Council bosses have agreed to change parts of the road layout after villagers said it was too confusing for drivers.
They claimed the new look High Street – which had been revamped in a bid to solve traffic problems – had also stopped people from visiting the village causing trade to plummet.
More than 250 householders sent in their views on the redevelopment work, which was completed earlier this year and included chicanes and double yellow lines.
Now some of the chicanes installed at the Dunsley Road and Stone Lane ends of the High Street will be removed. While clear right of way signs will also be put up so drivers know who has priority when travelling along the street.
