Scores of parents across the Black Country and Staffordshire have been fined for illegally parking outside schools in just five weeks as police and councils crack down on the problem during the new school year.

Motorists are being handed £70 fines when they are caught parking on zig-zag and double yellow lines despite being banned from parking there during school hours.
In Sandwell, 27 fines were handed out since the school year started in September, with 26 in Wolverhampton.
Elsewhere, five fines were handed out in Cannock, eight in Walsall, eight in Dudley and two in Stafford.
