A man had to be airlifted to hospital after badly injuring his arm in a grinding machine at an industrial estate in the Black Country.

A man had to be airlifted to hospital after badly injuring his arm in a grinding machine at an industrial estate in the Black Country.

The man was injured at a unit on the Owen Road Industrial Estate in Willenhall.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the scene at 2.45pm yesterday.

Spokesman Chris Kowalik said: "A man in his 30s suffered a cut to his arm while using a grinding machine. Crews at the scene stemmed the arterial bleed to his left arm.

They gave him pain relief before flying him to the awaiting trauma team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham."
