A pay cap for senior officers of £100,000 a year is being considered by Cannock Chase District Council.

The move is part of a salary review ordered by new council leader George Adamson.

Cannock's chief executive Stephen Brown is currently the only senior officer on the council payroll to earn more than £100,000, with a basic salary of £113, 473.

He did not want to comment today.

But the cap would also limit salaries for any senior officers in the future.
