Landmark former rock club JB's will be stripped of its memorabilia and auctioned off as administrators admit defeat in the battle to sell it on, the Express & Star can reveal today.
The live music venue and nightclub in Castle Hill, Dudley, will go under the hammer as an empty building in September as buyers willing to take it on have failed to materialise.
And as of next week, Birmingham-based auctioneers MGR Appraisals Ltd will start selling off music equipment and items that have adorned the walls of the club over the decades as it hosted legends of the music industry including Led Zeppelin, U2, Manic Street Preachers and Blur.
The club went into administration in September and closed in January with debts of £450,000.
A potential buyer pulled out at the 11th hour at the end of last year.
Administrator John Travers said even knocking £25,000 off the original asking price of £350,000 had not helped to bring another buyer forward.
The property – minus extras – will be auctioned off by Bigwood Auctioneers in Birmingham city centre on September 22.
