Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with petrol thefts in the Black Country.

They are hunting a man who drove off without paying for fuel 16 times in the region.

The thief has struck at stations in Wolverhampton, Sandwell and Walsall. Waitrose off Penn Road, was the latest victim.

The thief made off with £72.50 of fuel. He struck twice at the garage, once on Wednesday evening and also on June 20.

He has hit garages six times in Wolverhampton, nine in Sandwell and once in Walsall since the spree began on March 10.

Other stations targeted are Total Service Station, Birmingham Road, Parkfields, which was hit twice; Shell, Dudley Street, West Bromwich, which was hit four times; the Co-op, Wellington Road, Stowlawn; BP, Birmingham Road, West Bromwich; Millfields Road Service Station, Bilston; BP, Great Bridge Street, West Brom; Broomfield Garage, Oldbury Road, Warley; Total, Church Bridge, Warley; Somerfield, Wolverhampton Road, Birchills, Walsall, and Birmingham Road Service Station, Bakenhall.
