Masked men with knives steal £5k in raid on pub

A gang of four masked men armed with machetes escaped with around £5,000 in cash after an early morning raid at a pub in Willenhall.

The gang broke into The Red Lion early yesterday, letting off a fire extinguisher to startle the licensee and his seven-months pregnant girlfriend.

Joe Martin, licensee of the Wolverhampton Road West pub, said he and his partner were left uninjured but shaken in the raid.
