An elderly man was robbed of his life savings while distracted in a Willenhall supermarket car park.

Police have released a CCTV image of a woman they would like to speak to in connection with the theft.

The 74-year-old may have been followed to Morrisons supermarket in Middle Piece Way after withdrawing his savings from a bank.

Two women distracted him before stealing the cash last month, and police say they would like to speak to a woman who is described as white, 5ft 9in, with dark, shoulder-length hair, and a foreign accent.

She was wearing a short denim skirt, dark leggings and a long white t shirt with a checked blouse. She was also wearing a dark, woollen hat. Police say more than £2,000 was stolen.

Pc Deb Ashley, from Willenhall police station, said: "We are appealing for anyone who may be able to identify this woman to contact us."

Anyone with information on the theft, which happened between 10.30am and 11.30am on April 12, can call 0345 113 5000.
