Legendary rocker Roger Daltrey is to perform in Wolverhampton, it was revealed today.

The former lead singer of The Who will perform Tommy and other classics with his band when they take to the stage at the Civic Hall on July 3.

The announcement is the latest in a line of top stars performing at the Civic Hall. Earlier this month, Lou Reed, one of the founding fathers of punk music, announced he was top perform at the North Street venue on July 1.

Tickets to see Daltrey go on sale tomorrow and are expected to sell fast.

John Penney, from the civic, said: "Having the likes of Roger Daltrey and Lou Reed at the civic is a real coup for us." Tickets cost £35 and will be available by visiting www.wolvescivic.co.uk or by calling 0870 320 7000.
