A young girl attacked by a dog during a school trip to a Wolverhampton park is lucky to be alive, her father said today.

Eleven-year-old Kajol Dharey was savaged by the unknown breed, leaving her with serious leg injuries after the attack at Bantock Park in Finchfield.

The youngster has not been able to walk since the horror attack and is constantly in pain. She is currently recovering at the family home in Hughes Avenue, Bradmore.

The dog ripped her trousers and also took a chunk out of her shoe. Her father Suckvinder, who is a taxi driver, said today: "We still can't believe this has happened. Kajol is in a lot of pain and she can't even walk. We are having to help her get round the house. She has been so scared since all of this happened."
