Police today released images of 32 people they want to identify after violence and criminal damage at a Midlands football derby.

Investigations are continuing into disorder between Birmingham City and Aston Villa supporters after the match at City's St Andrew's ground on December 1.

Trouble started hours before kick-off as rival fans damaged cars and property and missiles were thrown.

There was trouble during the match, and extensive damage inside the ground.

Towards the end of the game some fans invaded the pitch and missiles were thrown at rival supporters and police. The confrontation continued on the street.

Det Insp Derek Packham, leading the investigation, said: ""Anyone found to be involved with disorder and criminal damage at football matches will be dealt with robustly and put before the courts.

"We shall also seek to apply for football banning orders to ensure those who want to cause trouble and ruin the enjoyment for others are prevented from doing so.

"We are appealing to members of the public to look closely at these images.

"If you recognise any of these individuals or believe you have information that may help, I urge you to come forward immediately."
