Jeweller Clive Willetts was serving customers when three armed robbers came into the shop in the tourist village of Kinver at midday yesterday.
Mr Willetts said they threatened him, partner Jane and the two customers and ordered them to lie down on the floor while they smashed display cabinets and grabbed gold and diamond rings.
The robbers then escaped in a stolen blue Vauxhall Vectra driven by a fourth man.
Mr Willetts who owns CNW jewellers today said it was a terrifying ordeal. He has vowed to continue trading at the shop in Chenevare Mews in the High Street.
Mr Willetts, who has run the shop for four years, said: "Given this line of work it is always in the back of your mind that you are a target.
"But you can't let that stop you from trading. It is very upsetting and very shocking."
Within hours villagers had left cards at the shop expressing their shock and Mr Willetts said he wanted to thank everyone for their support.
The Vectra was later abandoned and the robbers drove off in a blue Mazda saloon car. Anyone with information can call 01785 234205 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
