The most infamous floating duckhouse in the country is now safe and sound in its new home alongside the M6.

The £1,700 Stockholm Duck Island that forced Gosport Conservative MP Sir Peter Viggers to stand down in the Commons expenses row was delivered to its new home at Hilton Hall Business Centre in Essington.

It arrived on the back of a 44-ton container lorry that brought it from Portsmouth where it had been in store for several months since first hitting the headlines.

Hilton Hall receptionist Helen Beavan said: "It needs a bit of a tidy-up but I am sure that the ducks will love it after they have settled in."

Former MP Sir Peter was unavailable for comment.
