A convoy of around four caravans was today in St Paul's Road.
Resident Mike Tinsley, a 72-year-old retired sales worker, said today: "We don't like it. The council should get rid of them as it's happened two or three times now. But it's just the same everywhere else in the country."
Councillors and residents have branded St Paul's Road an "absolute disgrace", saying it was targeted by fly-tippers on a weekly basis. Asbestos wrapped in plastic sheeting, old clothes, rubbish, bricks, tyres and electrical items have been left.
Residents today said the travellers were blocking the road with caravans parked on both sides of the street.
Wednesbury councillor Bill Archer said he had been campaigning for years to get St Paul's Road secured with bollards or CCTV cameras.
Councillor Ian Jones, said: "We are aware of the problem and we are talking to the police with a view to resolving the matter as soon as possible."
