Pensioner in wheelchair hit by Cannock bus
An elderly woman in a wheelchair was left with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a bus as she was being pushed by her 76-year-old husband at a station in Staffordshire, it was revealed today.

The 74-year-old was in the terminus off Stafford Road in Cannock when the accident happened.
The woman, who is from the Cannock area, suffered serious chest injuries, described as life threatening, when she was knocked out of her wheelchair.
She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.
The woman, who has not been named, was today in intensive care where her condition was described by police as stable.
Her husband suffered minor injuries and was released after treatment.
The coach driver, a 41-year-old local man, was not injured.
The accident happened at 8.30am on Thursday.
Sgt Tracey Pointon, of Staffordshire police, today appealed for witnesses to contact Cannock police station on 0300 123 4455.
Other passengers were waiting for buses at the busy bus station when the accident happened.
The terminus is used by Arriva Midlands and a number of other smaller bus companies, and for pick ups by coach operators.
It was not immediately clear today which bus firm was involved in the accident.
