Pub has Jurassic Park dinosaur-themed ride

It looks like it was inspired by movie blockbuster Jurassic Park but this dinosaur-themed adventure ride is only one of the attractions at a Staffordshire pub.

And after several off-beat facilities were added to the White Lion pub in Cannock, it has now been hailed as a "little Blackpool" by locals.

Licensees Michelle and Mole Morris have turned part of the car park of the pub in Cannock Road into a family attraction including the coin-operated car ride feature.

They have a mix of two-seater and single seater battery-powered cars.

The couple took over the pub last June and the opening of the ride this bank holiday weekend also celebrates their first year in charge.

They have invested more than £24,000 in the ride and other improvements.

"We also have a dinosaur-themed burger bar, a bouncy castle and an indoor games room."Some regulars say it is like a little Blackpool," said Mr Morris, a former Royal Marine who has been in the licensing trade for more than 20 years.

He and his wife met in Majorca where they both ran bars in the same resort.

The new ride will initially run from 12 noon to 7.30pm each day from Friday.

It costs £1 for a four-minute drive.The couple are planning to replace some of the cars with "racier" vehicles and trikes."It is a work in progress," added Mr Morris.
