A Facebook group has been set up to mourn the passing of a popular Wednesbury pub.
The RIP The Lamp site has 214 members all paying tribute to the pub, which they say was the favourite first pub for all the town's teenagers.
The venue, owned by the Scottish and Newcastle Pub Company, closed around a week ago and has been put up for sale.
Some of the posts on the website include: "Brings a tear to my eye" and "so many drunken memories". There have also been 39 photographs uploaded of revellers having fun in The Lamp. The venue is also popular with some of Wednesbury's older residents.
Veteran councillor Bill Archer, aged 82, also remembers his younger days there.
He said: "It was always popular with the younger people in the town, I think we all started there.
"It's always a shame to see a pub close but if it is that popular hopefully someone will buy it and keep it as a pub." Lisa Balliache, spokeswoman for Scottish and Newcastle pub company said: "The pub closed the week before Easter. At the moment it is for sale and we have had quite a bit interest.
"We are regularly approached by third parties interested in buying individual pubs, and this can be a lengthy process, so it is our policy not to comment until a sale is complete, as it leads to speculation."
Birmingham estate agents Fleurets are marketing the property in Upper High Street for £195,000 plus VAT.
