Girl finds snake in bathroom

A five-year-old girl got a shock when she visited her grandfather's bathroom and found a snake wriggling on the floor.

Katie Male spotted the 6in rat snake at Brian Male's home in Well Lane, Blakenall, Walsall.

Her father Gary came to her rescue when she began yelling.

"I have kept snakes myself but I didn't recognise this one and I started panicking about whether or not it was venomous or not," he said.

It was collected by RSPCA Inspector Martin Dolan, who said it was non-venomous.
