Man found hurt in road

A man was taken to hospital suffering serious injuries after being found lying in a street outside Stafford Prison.

The local man, who has not been named by police, is said to be in a "very serious condition" after being found by a member of the public lying in the street at the junction of Gaol Road and County Road, in Stafford at around 2.30am yesterday.

The man, who is believed to be aged in his 20s or 30s, was rushed to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.
