M6 chaos as route closed

Roadworks on the M6 motorway caused traffic chaos in Stafford today.

Early morning commuters faced long tailbacks on the A449 through the town after the Highways Agency closed the motorway northbound between junctions 13 and 14 as part of major resurfacing works.

The roadworks were due to finish this morning.
