Friends of Stafford man Mark Sandham who died following a fight in a pub have been paying tribute to him.
They have set up an internet group in his honour through the Facebook social networking website.
The 34-year-old self-employed builder died on Saturday night in Stafford Hospital after suffering a serious head injury at the Oxleathers pub in Western Downs the night before.
Police and paramedics found Mr Sandham unconscious inside the pub shortly after midnight.
Despite efforts to save him, his condition worsened whilst he was being cared for at Stafford Hospital.
Aaron Matthew Smirthwaite, of Conifer Grove, Stafford, appeared at Cannock Magistrates yesterday charged with manslaughter.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Stafford Crown Court on October 12.
Mr Sandham's family have been too distressed to talk about his death but friends have paid tribute to Mr Sandham on the Internet.
A Facebook group called RIP Mark Sandham has attracted more than 20 friends of the builder.
Writing on the site Lamara Butler said: "RIP Mark. My thoughts are with all the Sandham and Beatty Family."
Vikki Cordall described Mr Sandham as a "top man" adding "I can't believe it."
Another added: "My old mate Mark Sandham, eh. What happened, I can't believe it?
"Not seen him for a while but I used to spend most of my time at his nan's, many a funny memory. Rest in peace Sandman."
Claire Davies said: "Really sad news to hear. We're all thinking of you and all your family at this extremely sad moment in time."
