A Women's Institute event in Stafford featuring Coronation Street star William Roache has been put back a year.
The Staffordshire Federation of Women's Institutes decided to postpone its 90th anniversary evening which had been originally planned for tomorrow.
The actor who plays Ken Barlow in the soap was to have spoken at the County Showground. Federation chairman Denise Moreton said they had decided there were too many anniversary events this year.
Meanwhile, comedian and quiz show presenter Nicholas Parsons, who chairs radio show Just a Minute, and Central Tonight presenter Bob Warman will be guests at the federation's autumn council meeting on October 13.
